Sisterlocs! Yes, yes and yes!!!

So I have come to the decision that I'm going to loc my hair. I'm giving myself a year and a half to do whatever I want with my loose hair and then in June of 2012, I'll be getting sisterlocs. I heard that they are expensive to start and maintain. I think I'll start out with a loctician and eventually transition to maintaining the locs myself. I'm suuuuuper excited. I'm all on youtube, loc blogs and nappturality obsessing over this. Not to mention the fact that I'm annoying my followers on twitter with my obsession. lol Anywho, I've decided to get sisterlocs because I believe it will be best for my hair. I can't wait! Watch the time fly by (just like it always does now that I'm an adult).

Slightly off topic, no one believes that I'll stick with the locs. I'll admit that I've been HELLA fickle with my hair in the past but I'm done with that. I promise I am. lol Other than color, after the locs I won't be doing anything drastic to my hair. In the meantime, I'll continue doing my research because like I said, I ultimately want to maintain my own hair. I'll be the first and only person to loc out of all my friends and family. Hell out of everyone I know. I love to stand out. ;-)

I finally decided...

to give weaves a break. Idk if it will be for good or what but one day I just got tired of it and took it down. I've been sporting my natural hair ever since. It's not as long as it use to be since I have had to transition all over again, but it's long enough. I've mostly been wearing a puff or a bun. Twistouts aren't looking particularly good on my hair so I think I'll attempt a braidout next week. Even if it looks good, I'll save that style for the weekends.

I'm back on my haircare tip after wearing weaves for so long. I wore them for about ten months straight. Ugh! I'm so disgusted and over it at this point. Oh and I did something to my hair that I wouldn't have done if I was still weaving and that's color my hair with permanent hair color. I got the haircolor and developer from Sally's. It was Magenta (don't ask) and that ish came out BRIGHT on my hair. Hair color doesn't usually show up on my hair like that but I'm sure it's because I used 30 developer instead of 20 this time. Photobucket Anywho, it was entirely too bright for me and I turned around and put a demi-permanent over my hair. Like a chocolate red. It looks much better. It doesn't appear to be fading yet, or the color has settled in. The hair color pops in the sunlight. Not so much in artificial light.

I'm going back and forth on whether or not I'll straighten next month for a length check. I REALLY want to avoid any damage and I'm sort of afraid of my hair being burned straight. No quiero. We'll see though. I'm thinking of straightening once maybe twice a year for length checks. I can't wait until my hair is longer because then I'll be more comfortable wearing my hair out. In the meantime, it's a puff or a bun. :-D
